This interactive map has been created to help gather input for a community workshop for Port Republic, VA. 

You are invited to use this map to provide input for this workshop. There are four marker types described below. You can insert markers into this map by clicking and dragging them to identify places in Port Republic. Sometimes an element can be more than one marker, just choose one, or choose to put two markers down on the same item if you wish. 

Community Assets.  List your favorite places or things you love most about your community, places to visit, enjoy, must not miss, or something you are simply proud of or like or where you bring guests. Places you rely on for day to day life.

Area of Need. Use this marker to tell us about places that need attention. This could be a physical infrastructure need (such as a broken/missing sidewalk, trash can, pot hole or needed bus stop) or another neighborhood need (such as people need education, jobs, or other services) to help the community thrive. 

Opportunity or Big Idea. Share anything you think represents an opportunity for neighborhood preservation and vitality, e.g., business opportunity or expansion, a new potential partnership, project or program, a great site for a trail, or park, etc,

Partners and Organizations. List any local organization, services, businesses, or institutions that potentially is or can play a role in strengthening the neighborhood. Even if this organization is not located here, drop a marker and list them on the asset they most relate to (can be federal, state, local or regional agencies that play a role locally).
